Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
First Look: Light gold in color.
Nose: “Poached Asian pear, honey, oak, toasted malt, and crème brûlée.”
The poached Asian pear and toasted malt hit the nose first, followed by honey, oak, and a light under tone of crème brûlée.
Palate: “Toffee, vanilla, cracked black pepper, oak, and pastry cream.”
Cracked black pepper and oak dance over the palate as pastry cream coats it; vanilla brings the flavors together and rounds out the palate.
Finish: The finish is spicy, long and lingering.
Fair Trade: $30
Verdict: This is just okay at $25-$35, and it will not even be on my radar at $40+. The Glenfiddich 12 Year Old is a good effort but will not be making a second appearance in my Whisk(e)y cabinet. I definitely recommend giving it a try at your local watering hole, if you can get it for a decent price.
