Chivas Regal Gold Signature 18 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky
First Look: “Light to medium gold in color.”
Nose: “Citrus, toffee, mocha, dried fruit and malt.”
The malt leads the charge with citrus and toffee intertwining with dried fruit and mocha to bring a delicate bouquet to this 18 year old.
Palate: "Milk chocolate, citrus, golden raisins, dried black currant, subtle spice and creamy toffee."
The malt from the nose disappears into milk chocolate, subtle spice, dried currant and golden raisins. The creamy toffee and citrus give off a soft viscous flavor that pulls all the richness together.
Finish: The finish here is extremely long with lingering flavors of chocolate, toffee and soft spice.
Fair Trade: $65
Verdict: Chivas Regal Gold Signature 18 year is a great blended whisky. Depending on your location, you should be able to track it down for $60-$80. I picked this up for $64 and believe that it’s worth the price of admission in the $60 range. However, in the $70-$80 range, Chivas Regal Gold Signature 18 year will price itself out of my whisk(e)y cabinet. Make sure you price shop this one before buying.
